Call for Nominations - Industry Reference Committees

Are you ready to help build the energy resources sector skills agenda?

This is your opportunity to play an important role in shaping skills for the energy resources sector.

NERA is seeking individuals from the energy resources sector to help shape the future of vocational education and training for coal, drilling and oil and gas by representing NERA on the following Industry Reference Committees (IRC):

Coal Mining

Drilling

Process Manufacturing, Recreational Vehicle and Laboratory (which includes oil and gas)

The successful nominees will play an active, hands-on role in the development of nationally recognised training packages that reflect the skills required by the energy resources sector now and into the future. Prospective nominees should have a broad knowledge of the coal mining, drilling or oil and gas sectors, the vocational education and training system, the labour market more broadly and workplace training requirements and processes.

What does an IRC do?

Industry Reference Committees drive the process of training package development and comprise members with experience, skills and knowledge of various industry sectors. They are the formal mechanism though which the industry sector skill needs - both current and future - are considered and defined in national training systems. More information on the role and function of IRCs can be found here.

Meetings are held quarterly in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

For more information about the role and to lodge an expression of interest, please contact Nigel Haywood, General Manager, Education and Work Skills via email.

Expressions of interest should consist of CVs which detail your experience in the skills agenda and detail how you would effectively represent NERA on the relevant IRC.

Expressions of interest close 5pm (WST) 31 March 2017.
