CORE Innovation Hub

Australia's first innovation hub for the energy resources sector

About the project

NERA is a Foundation Partner of the CORE Innovation Hub (CORE) — Australia's first co-working, collaboration and innovation hub focused on the resources and energy sector.

Launched in October 2016, CORE provides a common point for operators, suppliers, researchers, entrepreneurs and startups to connect and collaborate on challenges and opportunities across the oil, gas, mining, mining equipment, technology and services sectors.

CORE is positioned alongside Australia's leading resources companies and universities in the Perth CBD, with a second site planned for Brisbane in 2018 and plans for an international site in 2019.

CORE's vision is to support the resources and energy sector and power the human enterprises of tomorrow by leveraging the $1 trillion opportunity forecast for the resources and energy sector from digital technologies.

Impact

NERA is helping to accelerate the growth of CORE as it builds a global network of hubs that will support Australia's competitive advantage in resources technology and establish it as the go-to space for collaboration and innovation opportunities in resources technology.

CORE is having a positive impact on the sector by supporting a dynamic collaborative and innovative environment through co-working, events and its CORE Skills professional development programs which involve new industry collaboration partnerships to co-create tailored content to equip the sector's workforce with the skills of the future.

CORE already has more than 80 industry members and collaborators, and reciprocal arrangements with other resources hubs in Santiago, Chile, San Francisco and Houston.
