NERA joined more than 100 delegates at the annual AusIMM International Uranium Conference, held in Adelaide from 4-5 June 2019, to strengthen Australia’s role as a major international player in the global uranium industry.
Returning as a sponsor of the conference, NERA welcomed delegates to the NERA networking reception ahead of the conference dinner.
NERA Project Manager Tim Duff presented on Day 1, sharing NERA's uranium project portfolio and initiatives, including a detailed update on our collaborative 'Improving Radiological Risk Assessments' and 'Automated Groundwater Monitoring' projects.
Associate Professor Dr Rachel Popelka-Filcoff from Flinders University provided an update on the specific research projects that form our collaborative 'Improving Radiological Risk Assessments' project, and discussed how the project is training our future workforce and informing more accurate decision making.
Attended by some of the top uranium experts, with a range of notable speakers, the conference issued a call for a dialogue surrounding the opportunities open to Australia as a major uranium mining state, including the possibility of a nuclear power industry.
