NERA calls on all female energy leaders to take part in new pre-accelerator program to drive diversity across the energy sector

Female founders in the energy resources sector will learn to take their businesses to the next level as part of the new CORE Sprint: Female Founders pre-accelerator program delivered by CORE Innovation Hub and Plus Eight, with support from NERA.

The dedicated eight-week business growth program, starting 23 September 2020, will teach female founders of energy resources businesses to grow as entrepreneurs by exploring new opportunities, testing different strategies and creating pathways to accelerate growth for their business.

CORE Sprint: Female Founders was launched at a virtual ‘Meet the Innovator’ event hosted by CORE Innovation Hub on 12 August 2020, where NERA CEO Miranda Taylor delivered the opening address and introduced guest speaker Alex Moss, CEO of Canaria Technologies, who shared her journey to creating wearable tech for NASA astronauts, and her plans to bring the predictive biometric system solution to the METS sector.

The program includes facilitated weekly workshops, mentoring sessions, pitching practice, practical assignments (including peer-to-peer check-ins), networking assistance, and access to an online platform with structured customised and curated content. View the detailed program session list here.

NERA CEO Miranda Taylor said supporting the CORE Sprint: Female Founders program is part of NERA’s commitment to deliver sector-wide programs and initiatives that are creating a more globally competitive, sustainable, technologically-driven and diverse energy resources sector for the benefit of all Australians.

“Our incredibly digitally enabled and technology-led sector will only flourish through multi-disciplinary approaches, building collaborative teams, and by bringing together a wide range of perspectives and experiences. We must strive hard to enable diversity,” said Ms Taylor.

“The CORE Sprint: Female Founders program will help to break down barriers for women entering the energy resources sector, connecting female founders with a community of successful mentors, investors and advisers. We encourage all Australian female founders within the sector to participate in this program.”
