NERA launches LETs Pitch Australia to showcase leading low emissions technologies on the world stage in Pittsburgh, USA

30 June 2022

LETs Pitch Australia is a supply chain development program delivered by NERA — an independent, federally funded not-for-profit working to decarbonise Australia’s energy sector — to support the growth of low emissions technologies by providing small to medium enterprises (SMEs) with unique business development opportunities and supporting three winning organisations to showcase at the GCEAF in Pittsburgh, United States.

Miranda Taylor, NERA Chief Executive Officer, says investment in technology combined with collaboration across governments, industries, R&D and innovators must be a top priority if we are to achieve the scale of decarbonisation needed to meet global emissions targets.

“We need to get to net zero as fast as we can, while recognising the world also needs access to decarbonised, reliable, and affordable energy that also meets the highest standards of environmental protection and safety. That demand is only likely to increase. It is therefore vital that we take action now to accelerate support for the technologies that can decarbonise our economies and address growing energy demands globally."

“LETs Pitch is about identifying the innovative businesses behind Australia's leading low emissions technologies and supporting their growth in domestic and international markets. This could secure a two-fold opportunity to grow Australia’s economy, by fast-tracking decarbonisation and diversifying Australia’s economy into high value technologies and advanced manufacturing,” said Ms Taylor.

LETs Pitch is open to start-up or scale-up businesses with an innovative technology that will support Australia’s low carbon future in one of the targeted technology categories such as clean hydrogen and low emissions electricity.

Winners of the LETs Pitch Australia program will be invited to travel to Pittsburgh, PA, and showcase their technology on the international stage at Global Clean Energy Action Forum, 21 –23 September 2022.
