Through NERA's GeneratER Program, WA-based SMEs Cumulus Projects and Elk Fish Robotics are working with Chevron Australia to develop a world-first solution to develop Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas (EEHA) certified drones that can fly into hazardous areas and use onboard sensors to investigate abnormal situations such as the detection of gas leaks. A demonstration of the technology was held at the Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) in late February.
